Description: In the song The Cape, Guy Clark sings about a boy who jumps off the garage wearing nothing but a flour sack cape: “Well, he’s one of those who knows that life is just a leap of faith, Spread your arms and hold your breath and always trust your cape… He did not know he could not fly, and so he did.”

In this four-session online workshop, these words will hum in the background as you shed the things that hold you back from leading your most expansive, true-to-yourself life… and cultivate the courage to fly on into it!

Through guided meditations; freewriting exercises; mindfulness practices; and weekly readings, songs, practices, and other inspirations, you will get in touch with your heart’s deepest desires and cultivate the inner resources necessary to pursue them. The teachings of Mark Nepo, Tara Brach, Pema Chodron, and Joseph Campbell will help to inform your journey.

IMG_9154Each week, you will be invited to share your writing—as well as the joys and challenges that accompany your courageous  entry into your expansive life— in a safe and supportive atmosphere.

I will personally respond to each piece of writing as a reflective witness. I will mirror your own wisdom and words back to you; offer practices, readings, and insights to support your process; and ask questions to inspire you to go more deeply into your areas of inquiry.

As you identify what you truly long for, you will develop the trust, resilience, and courage you need to spread your arms wide and leap into the beautiful unknown that awaits all of us who are willing to follow the whispers of our hearts. And I am excited to hold space for you to soar!

This workshop series is inspired by a class I have been teaching at Prescott College for several years and a program I facilitate for guests at Breitenbush Hot Springs. It is designed for anybody who yearns to fly.
